KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA and televangelist Amir Liquat Hussain on Wednesday lashed out at party leadership for showing ‘neglect’ in catering the needs of people in Karachi, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan ignored leadership of the provincial capital over nominations for Speaker and
Deputy Speaker post.
“The person who made the Muhajirs trust in Imran Khan, the one who made them believe that he was their leader and saviour, are you (Imran) not even willin
g to listen to the reservations of that person?” Liaquat complained while addressing a gathering in Karachi.
He further complained that despite becoming PM due to support of the people of Karachi, PM Imran has not paid a visit to the Mazar-e-Quaid.
“It has been 11 days since Khan’s election as PM and he has not visited Karachi. Quaid-e-Azam awaits his son (Imran). I am here to remin
d Khan of his commitments,” a fired-up Liaquat said.
Talking about re
ports of him parting ways with the PTI, Liaquat said that he would not leave the party because he considers chairman Imran Khan as his leader.
“Imran Khan is my leader. No one can make me quit PTI. But I also have the responsibility to demand fulfillment of p
romises.”
The lawmaker also said that he was not invited by newly-appointed Sindh Governor Imran Ismail to a meeting.
